The A Beka Curriculum

TWO YEAR OLD CLASSES

ABeka curriculum will be used for both letters and numbers.  In our two year old classes, the children will be taught the:

                        Names, sounds, and pictures of:  VOWELS – A,E,I,O,U

                        Names and pictures of the:               CONSONANTS

                        They will be taught to count by rote 1 – 30

                           and to recognize the numbers 1 – 10

Weeks 1 – 4

            Phonics:  The name, sound, and picture for A and E

            Numbers:  Counting 1 – 5; recognition and concept of 1 and 2

Weeks 5 – 8

            Phonics:  The name, sound, and picture for I and O

            Numbers:  Counting 1 – 10; recognition and concept of 3 and 4

Weeks 9 – 12

            Phonics:  The name, sound, and picture for U

                             The name and picture for B

            Numbers:  Counting 1 – 15; review of recognition and concept of 1 – 4

Weeks 13 – 16

            Phonics:  The name and picture for C and D

            Numbers:  Review counting 1 – 15; recognition and concept of 5

Review for last two weeks in December

Weeks 17 – 20

            Phonics:  The name and picture for F

            Numbers:  Counting 1 – 20; recognition and concept of 6 and 7

Weeks 21 –24

            Phonics:  The name and picture for G and H

            Numbers:  Review of counting 1 – 20; recognition of 8

Weeks 25 – 28

            Phonics:  The name and picture for J

            Numbers:  Counting 1 – 15; review of recognition and concept of 1 – 8

Weeks 29 – 32

            Phonics:  The name and picture for K, L, M, and N

            Numbers:  Counting 1 – 30; recognition and concept of 9

Weeks 33 – 36

Phonics:  The name and picture for P, Q, R, S, and T

            Numbers:  Review of counting 1 – 30; recognition and concept of 10

Weeks 37 – 40

            Phonics:  The name and picture for V, W, X, Y, and Z

            Numbers:  Review of counting 1 – 30; review of recognition and concept
