Mission, Philosophy and Goals |
| |
It is Collierville Christian Academy’s belief that children need a safe and healthy environment to develop and learn, feel secure, and sense that they are truly loved. In addition, we believe that an understanding of God is a significant part of a child’s character development and the virtues learned are most important to a child’s overall development.
Early education should focus on hands-on, real life experiences that also incorporate academics and promote good social / emotional development. Learning programs must be managed by qualified early childhood educators that teach within an organized framework, set developmental objectives and goals for each age group, refer to standards as they design curriculum and teaching plans that are appropriate based on children’s developmental level. Teachers must show care in how they teach to ensure plans are closely tied to the ways in which children learn. When children are given opportunities to act on their environment and relate what they know, their knowledge is uniquely developed. |
